The Local 444 president says the bargaining team will work around the clock.
The head of the FCA bargaining team at Unifor says talks are going well for the automaker.Local 444 President Dino Chiodo says there is a lot of ground to cover before the strike deadline of October 10th.He says each side has laid out its expectations, but both realize they won't get everything they're after:"This is bargaining, it's about making sure both sides leave this in a professional manner, but at the same time in a fair way so they get some benefits but because the companies have been doing well, there is expectation," says Chiodo.Chiodo adds that they're continuing to press for a new product at the Etobicoke casting plant and guarantees of future products for the Windsor Assembly Plant. He admits 12 days seems like a long time, but adds he and the Unifor bargaining team are willing to go round the clock to get a deal done.
