A couple of Chatham men are facing numerous charges after Chatham Kent Police were alerted to the theft of a parking meter.
Officers responded to Pegley Court in the area of the hospital late yesterday (Sun Jan 28) morning.
They spotted 2 men breaking into the meter.
Those men fled when they saw the officer, but were arrested a short distance away still carrying the meter.
Officers found tools to crack open the parking meter and in one of the backpacks carried by the men some drugs and brass knuckles.
The 27 and 28-year-old men both face charges of theft, possession of stolen property and possession of tools for breaking into coin operated or currency exchange devices.
The older man also faces charges of drug possession and possession of a prohibited weapon.
