Police say they are unable to confirm the bear sighting at this time

A possible bear sighting in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent police say early Monday morning (1:30am) officers received a call from a local resident saying he saw two black bears in the area of Base Line and Centre Side Road near Wallaceburg.

At this time, police say they are unable to confirm the bear sighting but are remaining the public to use caution when walking through bushes and fields.

Officers are also asking the public to keep your distance from wild animals and call police if you see an animal displaying aggressive behaviour.
