Two men from Windsor has been charged after causing a disturbance in Erieau, Ont.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a traffic complaint on Kerr Avenue Monday night around 8pm.
According to police, a local citizen approached a pick-up truck that was doing doughnuts in the marina parking lot.
Police say two men got out of the pick-up and a verbal argument began with the citizen being threatened by the men.
Police say the men then sped off and went towards the boat launch.
The citizen followed and continued asking the men to leave the area due to their erratic driving.
Police say a physical altercation then started and the citizen was threatened with a metal pipe, which was thrown at him and the rear window of his vehicle was also smashed as the men fled.
Police were provided a description of the men and the pick-up truck.
They were spotted by a Chatham-Kent officer around 8:30pm travelling westbound on Highway 401.
With the assistance of the OPP, the vehicle was stopped near Manning Road.
The two men were arrested and were taken to police headquarters in Chatham.
A 22-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assault.
Police have also charged a 24-year-old man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000.
Both men have been released and will appear in court in August.
