A Chatham-Kent police officer is facing another sexual assault charge.
As AM800 News reported last month, Constable Andrew Jaconelli was charged with sexual assault and assault with a weapon following an investigation into allegations on November 27, 2018.
Constable Jaconelli is now facing an additional charge of sexual assault in connection with an off-duty incident which allegedly occurred in August of 2018, according to a release from CKPS.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service had called in Windsor Police Service's Major Crimes Unit to investigate as a outside agency.
He's been suspended with pay since December, 14 2018 and has also been charged with discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act — that charge is the result of a Chatham-Kent Police Services Professional Standards Branch internal investigation.
Jaconelli appeared in court Friday and will return to court Jan. 8.
