A man is facing numerous charges after being taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Chatham.
Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street for an assault investigation.
When officers arrived on scene they learned a man had been causing a disturbance outside of the business.
Police say when an employee intervened, the man "aggressively" charged toward the employee, accompanied by verbal threats of causing harm.
The situation then escalated further as the man allegedly began swinging and proceeded to physically assault the employee by grabbing their genitals.
The man was located a short distance away and arrested.
A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with uttering threats, assault, and sexual assault.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
