Five hospitals in southwestern Ontario who were hit by a massive cyberattack in October say charting systems continue to come back online.
A joint news release says Windsor Regional Hospital, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Erie Shores HealthCare, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Bluewater Health in Sarnia are on pace to have core clinical systems online by Friday.
They say extensive security measures have been put in place to safeguard the systems.
The hospitals say as systems continue to come back online they are closely monitoring system integrity during network restoration at each institution.
Hospital systems were breached in October with some patient and staff information being published online after the hospitals refused to pay a multi-million dollar ransom.
