Police dealt with incidents on Friday and Saturday nights in downtown Windsor

Charges have been laid in a pair of stabbings in downtown Windsor over the weekend.

Windsor Police Service was called to the corner of Goyeau and Elliott St. just after 6pm Friday night for a report of a stabbing.

The male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

That investigation resulted assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault charges — police say the man is in his '20s.

On Saturday at 6pm patrol officers were called to the 500 block of Caron Ave. between Park St. W. and Wyandotte St. W. for a separate incident.

A man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in that incident as well — a man in his '40s is charged with assault with a weapon in relation to that attack.

Police have yet to release further details on the victims as Major Crimes continues to investigate.
