WINDSOR — A Windsor man has been formally charged in relation to a stabbing which led to a 12-hour standoff in downtown Windsor.
The investigation led officers to a multi-unit dwelling on Bruce Ave. south of Park where a suspect refused to leave.
Police had received information that a firearm may be stored in the home.
Around 5:30pm on Wednesday, the suspect left the home and was combative with officers who had to taser him to gain control.
He was then arrested and taken to Windsor police headquarters.
Officers executed a search warrant at the home and did not find a firearm.
James Tooshkenig, 50, has been charged with assault with a weapon, utter threats to cause bodily harm or death and forcible confinement.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and police say the suspect and victim were known to each other.
