A 50-year-old Windsor man is facing assault and weapons charges after an altercation on a city bus over the weekend.
Police responded to the scene at Drouillard Rd. and Seminole St. around 8:45pm on Saturday.
Officers found a middle aged man laying beside the Windsor Transit bus suffering from a serious head injury. He was sent to hospital for treatment.
A 20-year-old man, also from Windsor, was arrested at the scene, but has since been released without charges.
Police report the 50-year-old man was causing a disturbance on the bus. He reportedly had been asked to the leave the bus when he allegedly continued to use harsh language and approached the driver.
That's when the 20-year-old man intervened and ended up pushing the older man out of the bus.
At one point, the older man allegedly pulled out a knife.
The charges include assault with a weapon, weapon dangerous and uttering threats. The suspect has been released from custody on a promise to appear at a future court date.
