Charges have now been laid after a store security guard in Windsor was stabbed while trying to arrest someone for shoplifting.
Windsor police were called to the store in the 2400 block of Dougall Ave., near Eugenie, Thursday at 8pm for a stabbing.
Police learned a man had left the store with several items, without paying.
The security guard tried to stop him, but was stabbeb — he was taken to the hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
Police located the suspect and recovered the stolen items and two knives.
Stefan Smith, 36, of Windsor is charged with assault causing bodily harm, possession of dangerous weapon, and theft under $5,000.
