A city man is facing a list of charges after an alleged drug deal near downtown Windsor.
Police say officers from the City Centre Patrol were on routine bicycle patrol in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Glengarry Avenue on around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
According to police, officers saw a man sitting on a bench when another man approached him on foot.
Police noticed the behaviour between was consistent with an illegal drug deal.
Officers then spotted the man sitting on the bench, having suspected drugs in his possession.
Police say the man who arrived on foot saw the officers approaching and fled the area without the suspected drugs.
The man sitting on the bench was arrested without incident.
Police seized a bag of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and a prohibited weapon from the man sitting on the bench.
A 40-year-old Windsor man is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking, Possess a prohibited weapon, Breach Probation and Breach weapons prohibition.
