A Leamington man has now been charged with attempted murder following an assault earlier this month.
On Friday, June 22 at 10pm, the OPP responded to a call at a home on Wigle St. to find a 36-year-old woman with serious injuries.
A 44-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. The charge has now been upgraded.
Robert Chad Hearns of Leamington is now charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and breach of probation.
The victim remains in hospital being treated for life threatening injuries.
The OPP is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to give them a call.
