A charge has been dropped against a Windsor teen after a fatal backyard campfire incident.
On June 16, 2018, police were called to a Windsor hospital for a man suffering from severe burns.
Police learned earlier in the evening, a group of people had gathered at a home on Dynasty St and was trying to light up a chiminea for a backyard camp fire.
The fire wasn't lighting up so an 18-year-old man poured gas into the chiminea, triggering a burst of flames resulting in the 20-year-old victim dying seven days later.
Police arrested and charged the teen with criminal negligence causing death but AM800 News has since learned the charge has been withdrawn and the case is closed.
