A call for improved management not more funding
Better management, not more funding, is what Ontario's healthcare system needs.
That's the bottom line of a new report by the Windsor-Essex Regional and Ontario Chambers of Commerce.
They've put together a Health Transformation Action Plan designed to boost the effectiveness of the healthcare sector.
Local chamber President Matt Marchand says the report recommends more involvement by the private sector. "What we are trying to do is through the series of reports is to expand the vision of the Ontario health care system to make sure we have sort of flexible and innovative ideas but also with respect to having private sector participation."
The report recommends more efficient purchases of goods and services while engaging the public sector and better connection between researchers and entrepreneurs.
It'll now be presented to the Ontario government for consideration.
