Influential members of the Windsor and District Chamber of Commerce have given the federal finance minister plenty to think about.
Bill Morneau met with 10 "Gold Circle" member of the chamber for a round table discussion.
"It was a good discussion and she heard cautious optimism from Morneau, particularly on NAFTA," says Janice Forsyth, Acting President and CEO.
She says the business leaders feel the current business climate has put a lot on hold.
"They were expressing concern around uncertainty and inability to maybe make plans at this point. Feeling a little bit hesitant around their future planning so that was expressed quite eloquently I think by a few of the members."
Forsyth says Morneau was also told there are still border concerns to be addressed over consistent treatment.
"As people travel back and forth and businesses try to do business that was also a concern that sometimes depending on which agent you got you might get a different response, so really encouraging that ease of transactions"
Morneau also met with Mayor Drew Dilkens and toured the FCA Windsor Assembly Plant on his Windsor stop of a cross country tour.
