LiUNA Bluesfest 2019 is kicking off a new theme night.
Based on the success of last year's '90s night, the final night of the event will be a Celebration of Prince.
This year Bluesfest takes place over two weekends in July on the Riverfront Festival Plaza.
Event organizer Rob Petroni says they're hoping the night is a winner.
"We thought what better theme night than Prince. It goes across all generations and if there's anybody out there that isn't a huge Prince fan, then you know I think we're missing the mark. So it was a no brainer for us"
Petroni says the success of Bluesfest last year allowed them to bring in X Ambassadors for the Hot Rock Night.
"They're one of the bands that we do think in another year or so we're not going to be able to to get, due to their demand and price so this was the perfect year to get them and our budget allowed for it this year. They command a big buck, but they bring in a big crowd"

Bluesfest Artistic Director, Tea Party Drummer, Jeff Burrows says this is also a huge opportunity for the local bands taking part.
"It's always great to play the pubs and clubs, and to have your own crowd, friends and family especially. But when you get the opportunity to showcase and showcase strong in front of thousands of people it's a game changer"
The two weekends this year are July 5/6, 2019 and July 12/13, 2019.
Among the other headliners are Blues legend Buddy Guy, Eric Gales and Sugarray Rayford on Blues Night, July 12, 2019.
Vanilla Ice is back along with 2 Live Crew for a reprise of 90s Throwback Night, July 5, 2019.
Petroni says they're hoping to have crowds of around 8000 for each of the four nights of the festival.
