The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board is hoping to consult with local authorities to address what it is calling "unreasonable delays."
370 clerical workers, technicians, custodians, maintenance and office staff went on strike Monday to back contract demands.
It has resulted in major delays for some teachers getting to school, especially at the secondary level.
In some cases, Windsor police and the OPP have been called in.
"We are going to be consulting with local authorities," says Fields. "Hopefully we can sit down with reps from the union and try to figure out a way so this isn't happening. This is day two where teachers are experiencing delays where teachers are being held at picket lines."
Fields says delays are expected but not this long.
"When you consider if each car is being held up for 10 minutes and you have 60-70 cars in the parking lot, you do the math. We had a report that a teacher didn't get into the building until 1:30 in the afternoon."
No new talks are planned.
