Fewer back-ups are expected for teachers trying to cross the picket line at Catholic schools across the area.
370 support staff, represented by Unifor Local 2458, have been on strike since October 17th causing teachers at some schools to be delayed for up to five hours.
A court injunction issued Thursday by Justice Kirk Munroe allows delays of no more than one minute from 7:30 am until 20 minutes before the start of classes.
Before 7:30am, the maximum delay is five minutes.
Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board spokesperson,Stephen Fields calls it a thoughtful decision. "He made it very clear that he wanted to make sure that he got it right, that it was very clear for everybody so that they understood what was going on. So we appreciate the judges efforts in that regard."
"The board has always appreciated the right of organized labour groups to strike" says Fields. "Our thing has always been lets not drag the students into this, keep the teachers out of it, keep the students out of it, let them get into their classrooms and let them get the education that they're entitled to under the Education Act.
The injunction will applies to all 45 Catholic schools in Windsor-Essex.
No new talks are planned.
