Nicholas Castellanos has been selected as Tiger of the Year.
Voting was conducted by the Detroit Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
The 26-year-old earned 19 of a possible 20 first place votes to capture the award for the first time in his career. Joe Jiménez received the other first place vote.
He finished the 2018 season hitting .298/.354/.500 with 88 runs scored, 46 doubles, five triples, 23 home runs, 89 RBI and 49 walks in 157 games and established career highs in hits, runs scored, doubles and walks.
In six seasons with the MLB team, Castellanos has hit .274/.323/.459 with 308 runs scored, 171 doubles, 29 triples, 93 home runs and 387 RBI in 737 games.
