Summer students attending St. Clair College have a new appreciation of the Crime Stoppers program.
A festival was held at the main campus Student Life Centre complete with games and prizes for participants.
Crime Stoppers police coordinator Constable Amanda Allen says the centre was full throughout the event.
"It's been a fantastic turnout since before the event even officially started, we've been packed and the students are participating in games to learn about Crime Stoppers and then get rewards, similar to the way Crime Stoppers program works"
Constable Allen says many of the summer students are foreign students.
"They come from countries where the police are not friendly like we are here in Canada. It's a great opportunity for them to meet the police officers today, to meet some Crime Stoppers representatives and learn that they can work with the police in this country. That we're here on the same team partnering with our media friends"
Event Co-chair and Event Management student Cate Foulon says it was a great collaboration.

"They gave us the idea and we came up with the carnival. They wanted to definitely keep it light and fun but also still informative and I think we did a pretty good job of that"
Foulon says almost all the foreign students at the event had never heard of Crime Stoppers.
