A local organization is making sure the people who spend their time caring for others, are also being cared for.
The Windsor-Essex Red Shoe Society recently hosted a wellness day to benefit families of Ronald McDonald House.
Coral Health Spa and Healthy Mama teamed up with the organization to deliver spa treatments and nourishing treats to promote self-care even in times of crisis to families using the Ronald McDonald House services.
"Ronald McDonald House already creates this big deep breath of fresh air for families, and we wanted to increase that calm in any way we could" said Jayne Graves Cichon, business Coordinator for Coral Health Spa.
When asked about the impact events like this have on the house, Christine Richer; Senior Manager for Ronald McDonald House Windsor said "we are grateful for the support and the time these companies have committed to help our families enjoy some self-care. The families at Ronald McDonald House Windsor are busy taking care of their sick child and it is important for them to have the opportunity to take a little bit of "me time" and enjoy some relaxation."
The vision of the Red Shoe Society is to deliver 1,000 RMHC nights of comfort by the year 2022, and to act as an ambassador through fundraising, volunteering, and raising awareness for all things Ronald McDonald House and their programs.
