A man faces a number of charges after a pursuit across begining in Oxford County and ending Essex County.
Provincial police received a report of a vehicle speeding westbound on Highway 401 without licence plates around 12pm Sunday; later discovering the vehicle had been stolen in the Brantford area.
Attempts to pull over the vehicle were unsuccessful and the vehicle entered Essex County before pulling off at Manning Rd. — OPP broke off the pursuit at that point in the interest of public safety.
Officers then spotted the van at a gas station at Manning and County Rd. 42, but when the driver spotted police he took off.
When the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver intentionally rammed the cruiser. The vehicle was eventually stopped at County Rd. 22 and Patillo Rd. and the driver arrested without incident.
A 36-year-old Windsor-man faces three counts of flight from police, two counts of driving under suspension, as well as one each of dangerous driving and possession of stolen property.
