A car accident in Chatham has led to charges.
On Friday, around 2:30 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Degge Street in Chatham.
Police arrived on scene and spoke to the driver at fault of the accident.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Police also learned the man had identified himself with a false name.
Eventually, the identity of the man was confirmed and police discovered that the man was bound by court conditions to not communicate with a female or attend a house on Degge Street.
The man was found to be failing to comply with his court conditions as a result.
The 63-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
He was charged with impaired driving, obstructing police and two counts of failing to comply.
The man was released with a future court date of April 17.
