Capitals Roll Blue Jackets To Advance

Washington will face Pittsburgh for the third year in a row

The Capitals are headed to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Alex Ovechkin scored twice as the Caps topped the Blue Jackets 6-3 in Game Six of their first-round series in Columbus.

After dropping the first two games at home, Washington won four straight to take the series, 4-2.

Caps goalie Braden Holtby had 35 saves Monday in a game in which his team was outshot 38-28.

Nick Foligno tallied a pair of goals for the Blue Jackets as their season came to an end.

Columbus has never made it past the first round of the playoffs.

Washington will meet the Penguins for the third straight season in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Penguins won the previous two meetings on route to back-to-back Stanley Cup victories.
