The Lakeshore Canadiens look to extend their winning streak to eight games when they host Petrolia Friday night in Provincial Junior Hockey League action.
The Canadiens are on a roll, having won seven in a row and eight of their last nine games.
Lakeshore is third in the Stobbs Division, four points back of Dresden for second-place and nine points behind front-running Essex.
Petrolia has lost five straight and has won only seven of 32 games this season.
Canadiens forward Ameen Fadel says they've been keeping their game simple.
"We've been playing really good lately, being physical, getting pucks in deep. We try and keep possession as much as we can. I think we've been getting a lot of shots lately, getting pucks to the net, following through, keeping it simple," says Fadel.
He says special teams are a big reason for the team's recent surge.
"Our PK (penalty kill) is the best in the league right now. We work as hard as possible. We have our guys going every night and everyone is always all-in. Power play as well as been getting better and improving over the season. I think now more than ever it's really needed. We've been doing a great job of getting pucks to the net and bodies in front," says Fadel.
He says they won't be taking Petrolia lightly.
"They (Flyers) play very physical and very hard. You can never under estimate any team in this league, so we definitely have a big challenge," says Fadel.
The game is being played at Lanspeary Park in Windsor and is part of the league's "Outdoor Shinny Series."
Puck drop is set for 7:30pm
