Topliffe makes 31 saves, Carter scores gamewinner as Lakeshore downs Essex
Mitch Topliffe made 31 saves and Kyler Carter had a goal and an assist to lead the Lakeshore Canadiens past the Essex 73's 4-3 in the Provincial Junior Hockey League Tuesday night.
Carter's goal at 5:03 of the second period was the game-winner and moved the Canadiens to within one point of the 73's for first-place in the Stobbs Division.
Tyler Scott had a goal and an assist for Essex and Tyler Ryan made 34 saves.
The loss snapped the 73's 11-game winning streak.
