Don't be alarmed if you see the Canadian Armed Forces in downtown Windsor this week.
They're taking part in an urban flying exercise in the city core.
Major Chris Fowler is from 427 Special Operation Aviation Squadron and is the officer in charge saying the aircraft will fly no lower than 200 ft above the highest point of their flight path.
"For us, we're looking to do this training to really cement some of our skills,"he says. "Our flying skills that ideally will be able to, if called upon, used if there was ever a security environment or an issue within any of the big larger cities within Canada."
Majors Chris Fowler and Alex Cadieux give listeners details of what to expect May 24 and May 25
He says a couple dozen air crew and support staff will be taking part in the exercise.
A similar training exercise was held in the city along the riverfront in 2011.
Fowler says CH-146 Griffon helicopters are part of the exercise.
"They'll see helicopters operating in the early evening and into the evening and we'll actually be conducting that training from 5 until 7 at night and then from 10 o'clock until midnight on both Wednesday and Thursday so I think the residents will see us flying around downtown."
