The extended strike at Caesars Windsor has forced one major trade show to seek an alternate location.
The Auto Parts Manufacturers Association of Canada had scheduled their annual conference for June 5th and 6th at Caesars Windsor.
Due to the continuing strike at the casino, APMA President Flavio Volpe says they've been forced to relocate the show two blocks away at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts.
Volpe says they've had the backup plan in place for some time. "We had the contingency plan in place so it's do you activate it. And you know you're not scrambling for a location as that point because if you are you're in trouble. So it was just a function of deciding to pull the trigger," he says.
The conference attracts over 600 people during the two-day event.
"We didn't want to have to move to another city, " says Volpe. It was important for us that we were in Windsor and able to accommodate plans that were made in some cases a year in advance for senior speakers and people who attend. So we're happy that we did the advance planning."
