Caesars Windsor is making it clear the labour dispute at the Windsor casino will hurt the business in a, "very competitive market."
Regional President for Caesars Entertainment Kevin Laforet issued a news release Friday after workers walked off the job at 12:01am.
"We felt our existing agreement compared favourably with industry standards and the collective agreement that was voted down would have only strengthened that position," says Laforet, who added the casino began a shutdown at 11pm Thursday night, which included closing the gaming floor, amenities, securing assets and closing the hotel.
Laforet says the full management team helped those guests exit the hotel.
He did state that Caesars acknowledges its customers and apologizes to them for any inconvenience from the strike, but there is no plan to return to the bargaining table any time soon.
