A bit of movement is being reported in trying to get talks restarted to end the strike at Caesars Windsor.
Unifor Local 444 members at the gaming, hotel and restaurant facility rejected a tentative deal Friday by almost 53%.
Incoming Local President Dave Cassidy says he's been in contact with the senior executive at Caesars Windsor.
"This weekend I reached out to the President - CEO Kevin Laforet, through an email and he has responded to me that he wants me to deal with their bargaining committee"
Cassidy says he's pulling the bargaining team together to sit down and have some good discussions of where they go from here.
He says he'll do whatever it takes to bring an end to this strike.
"If it means I have to see Kevin Laforet's boss in Vegas I'll have a small team to get on a plane and we'll be off to Vegas tonight. I mean our membership comes first, that's always been my motto and I will continue that way and when the membership speaks we need to listen"
This is Day 47 of the strike of 2100 workers at Caesars Windsor.
