Caboto Club members along with the Caboto Soccer Club are giving back to the community.
On Friday, they donated winter gear along with sport uniforms to the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board.
Caboto Club member Alessandro Sorrentino says members started collecting items back in February.
"We decided to donate to show people what we actually donate and things like that," says Sorrentino. "So we came up with a toy drive and also a clothes drive for kids in schools and we made a collection the last five-six months of toques, scarves, gloves and socks."
He says some youngsters made donations as well.
"We want to show our young male and females of our Caboto soccer that also gave a lot of their uniforms and they're brand new uniforms to the school board and it's nice to have them come out and show what we do at the club," says Sorrentino.
Sorrentino says the club enjoys giving back to the community.
"We don't really publicize it, we just do it because that's our motto, just to give with nothing in return," says Sorrentino. "We do charity pastas and stuff like that but this year we decided but it's time some people see what we actually do."
He says donating winter clothing items will become a yearly tradition for the club.
The school board will give the gear to needy families that attend their schools from JK to Grade 8.
