A successful opening year for the Unemployed Help Centre's Shuttling for Success program.
CEO June Muir says more than 440 riders took advantage of the service.
A shuttle bus picks up clients from designated locations in Windsor-Essex and brings them to the centre's site on Cantelon Drive for programs and services.
"This shuttle has made a difference in the lives of so many," says Muir. "We have people living far away that cannot take a bus here because it takes them two hours or more and this shuttle has allowed them to participate in our programs and services."
She says the shuttle service allows the public to take advantage of programs offered at the Unemployed Help Centre.
"We have 26 programs and services here all under one roof which makes it easy access for many of our clients," says Muir. "We're very proud of what we do and having this shuttle is the icing on the cake."
The Do Good Divas, along with other community groups, have sponsored the 24-seat shuttle bus.
The Unemployed Help Centre received a a plaque on Monday from the Divas recognizing the sponsorship.
