It is down to business for the new Windsor City Council to start off 2019.
Mayor Drew Dilkens says in the first quarter of the year, the new council will review and add to the 20-year strategic plan that was created in 2015.
For him, Dilkens says his top priority is to diversify the economy which could take several forms including increased funding to the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation.
"We need to triple or quadruple our efforts in the economic development front," he says. "Making sure we have enough people on the ground, selling our region and getting to the right sectors and right industries to be able to help to diversify."
He says the new warden in Essex County, Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara, agrees with him that diversity is vital.
In addition to the 20-year plan, the first quarter will also include approving the 2019 city budget.
