After deliberations were postponed last month, budget talks are about to begin in Amherstburg.
Town council sits down next week to go over a document calling for a tax increase of just under 2-percent (1.99).
Mayor Aldo DiCarlo believes most people will find that acceptable. "Nobody is really screaming about it. It is a standard rate of inflation increase and with all the years we had of financial problems, most people appreciate that we are going to need an increase."
DiCarlo adds that while finances have improved dramatically over the past couple of years, the town still has its challenges.
Deliberations take place January 9th to the 11th.
