As the City of Windsor gets ready for its first Bright Lights Festival, there's a lot to do in three weeks.
The official opening is at 6:30pm on December 8.
About 50 of the trees in Jackson Park have lights on them already and thousands more lights are still to go up. A page on the city's website has details of what will be happening and how people can volunteer.
Marketing and Communications Officer Mary Rogers says they're firing up their social media accounts for this event.
"We have a website — BrightLightsWindsor.ca — is where all the information will be, we have an events page on Facebook and we'll get it out through Twitter and Instragram," says Rogers.

You can't have a festival without food.
Pam LaBute, Manager of Community Development, says there will be plenty of grub available.
"We have a couple of vendors who are going to be here on site on the Friday and Saturday evenings," LaBute. "Not during the weekdays, they'll be here with hot chocolate and coffee available. We're still working with some other vendors maybe some pizza slices or something like that."
LaBute says they're putting together entertainment for the festival.
"We're working with community groups right now we did a call out to artists and Kathy Masterson, who is our Cultural Affairs Manager, has been leading that to bring together the community groups to sing, youth groups choral groups and entertainment out here in the entrance," says LaBute.
Concerns about parking have been addressed as the Kennedy high school lot and other nearby sites provide over 300 spots. In addition to the lights, there will be horse drawn carriage rides, seasonal characters in the park along with the food vendors.
