The infamous 'Windsor Hum' has struck again.
Windsor-West MP Brian Masse says he's been receiving several complaints from residents about the noise being persistent and loud last week, particularly on the night at Tuedsay, January 2, 2018.
Masse says some progress was made in the past, but it's been more than a year since anything new has come from Liberal government administration.
He says residents dealing with the hum on a daily basis are far past frustrated.
"It becomes particularly difficult to accept as citizens because because we have been investment in the public funds into a study. We do have an allocated area of concern that's been identified. So the lack of, I guess, effort from the government is just a laziness approach to government."
He says the hum needs to become a higher priority issue.
"We have noise and vibration coming from the United States. I think this goes to a much broader problem we have with a lack of respect from the United States to the actual Trudeau administration because they won't tell the Canadians what they're plan of action is. So this is probably going to require some work to make sure that the international treaty becomes a political issue."
He says the Justin Trudeau administration has completely forgotten about the issue.
"This really becomes, at the end of the day, political will and interest. This is the type of laziness that we've seen with them whether it's been on their business tax cuts, whether it's been their ethics problems, whether it's been, even the vacation practices of the Prime Minister, have really been born from laziness and an entitlement of putting things off as opposed to working on the issues."
Masse says he'll be calling on the Liberal government for a clear update as to what work has been done on the hum over the past year.
Essex MP Tracey Ramsey has also issued a letter requesting an update.
