A Windsor man has now been charged in the death of his father.
Around 10:20am Wednesday, police were called to a home on Drouillard Rd and during the call to dispatch, officers attended a home on Everts Ave. near Tecumseh Rd. West to check on the well-being of a man.
Officers located the body of a 66-year-old man with obvious signs of trauma.
As a result, police went to the home on Drouillard Rd. and arrested the male caller.
An investigation determined the accused was the adult son of the victim.
"It is extremely rare to have a stranger situation with a homicide in our city," says Windsor Police Sergeant Steve Betteridge. "As we have been able to tell our public here in this case, they obviously had a relationship and were known to one another."
38-year-old David Sura is charged with first-degree murder.
Both homes are being held as crime scenes.
