Bill Bowler has stepped down as head coach and general manager of the LaSalle Vipers to take on the full-time role of vice-president of Hockey Operations for the Windsor Spitfires.
Bowler is being replaced by John Nelson, who left the Vipers six years ago to be an assistant coach with the University of Windsor men's hockey team.
Nelson is stepping back into the role he filled as a relative newcomer to the area back in 2008 – this time as both coach and general manager for the Vipers.
John Savage, one of the Vipers’ owners says Bill Bowler’s move to take on the full-time role of vice-president of hockey operations with the Windsor Spitfires is an important business move.
