The final leg of Bowl for Kids Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor-Essex is in the books.
It's the largest fundraising event of the year, according to Director of Donor Relations Kieran McKenzie.
The annual event hit Empire Lanes in Ruthven last weekend and wrapped up with two nights at Windsor's Rose Bowl Lanes this past weekend.
McKenzie says the event attracted more than 700 people and is close to hitting the $50,000 mark.
"For every single dollar that we raise here tonight, $18 goes back into the community in terms of social benefits," he says.
He says residents go out of their way to participate every year.
"We're very humbled in many respects, that people have that kind of commitment to recognize how important our agency is and to go out and actually fundraise on their own on our behalf. We're very proud of that," he says.
Money raised goes towards mentorship programs for Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex.
McKenzie says donations are still being collected.
