The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has issued a boil water advisory for a small part of Leamington.
Customers serviced by the Union Water Supply System on the north and south side of Mersea Rd. 10 between Highway 77 and Kent Rd. 1 are being asked not to consume their tap water — this includes a number of households on Mersea Rd. 12 as well.
According to a release, there is a possible contamination of the water supply, but no illnesses have been reported.
The health unit is asking that only bottled water or water brought to a hard boil for one minute be consumed.
Approximately 50 homes are affected and the health unit says the Union Water System is hand delivering notices to each address.
The latest information on the advisory can be found on the health unit's website.
