A Windsor kidney specialist looking to have his hospital privileges reinstated, is going to have to wait a little longer.
Back in June 2018, Windsor Regional Hospital's Medical Advisory Committee suspended the privileges of Dr. Albert Kadri, on an interim basis, which does not impact his ability to have his own practice.
The committee felt the doctor's conduct raised concerns regarding OHIP billing, and his foundation and related fundraising.
Kadri says the hospital began making changes that affected patient care that he disagreed with and believes he was targeted because of his opposition.
Kadri appealed the suspension by the committee, which is made up of his peers, to a hearing before the Board of Directors.
The board issued its decision on January 14, 2019 and supported the decision of the Medical Advisory Committee.
As a result, AM800 News has learned Kadri has appealed to a higher body, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and the hearing is expected to take place this year.
AM800 News has a call out to Dr. Kadri.
