There's an impasse at the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority.
Administration is recommending a 4.1-percent increase in the 2017 budge but the board if directors has rejected the document and told administration to try again.
It's being called a "bare bone budget" by General Manager Eli Maodus. "The board chose not to accept administrations recommendations for increases for 2017" says Maodus. "They've directed administration to come back with further information and a special meeting will be set for later in November and hopefully at that time the board can resolve to move the process forward."
Maodus says "board members just weren't happy with the amount of the increase given budget constraints faced by some municipalities."
They'll try again at a meeting November 29th.
