Toronto receives infielder Brandon Drury and a minor league prospect

The New York Yankees have acquired left-hander J.A. Happ from Toronto to bolster their starting rotation.

The Yankees are sending infielder Brandon Drury and minor league outfielder Bill McKinney to the Blue Jays.

Happ, who turns 36 in October, is 10-6 with a 4.18 earned-run average in 20 starts.

Drury was acquired by the Yankees from the Arizona Diamondbacks in the offseason, but he's been the odd man out on a stacked lineup.

He's batting .176 with one home run.

The Yankees got McKinney from the Chicago Cubs in the trade that sent closer Aroldis Chapman to the Windy City in 2016.

The 23-year-old ranked as the number 20 prospect in the Yankees system.

McKinney is batting .230 witih 13 home runs in Triple-A this season.
