Dylan Larkin had the other two goals for the Wings, who rallied from 4-1 down only to lose their third straight.
Jimmy Howard allowed four goals on eight shots and was replaced by Jonathan Bernier in the second period.
The Wings host the Minnesota Wild Friday night.
