The city of Windsor is moving forward with a plan to demolish a bike park in the east-end.
Ward 7 councillor Irek Kusmierczyk asked that council halt plans to clear the resident-built track, but that motion was shot down by council.
The illegal bike track is near the Little River Rd. entrance to the Ganatchio Trail.
And while the track is coming down, council has asked for a report to look at an option to build another park somewhere else in the city.

Councillor Kusmierczyk spoke with those behind the park and feels they're on board with losing what they've built, but potentially gaining a legal track elsewhere. "I told them that there was a very good chance that council would look into opening a course in another location, in another venue and I know speaking to them that they're open to that as well."
Kusmierczyk hopes the report back will lay out the way forward on the bike track issue. "Consult with the cycling community, consult with experts, look into best practices from other communities like Toronto and bring back a report which will provide options and recommendations to council."
Mayor Drew Dilkens warned council the bike track, as it is, leaves the city exposed to lawsuits.
He reminded councillors the city has been sued before over a similar issue and had to pay, costing ratepayers the $250,000 insurance deductible.
