Big Trucks Power Ford April Sales

AM800-NEWS-FORD-TRUCK-GETTY-1.3790377 MIAMI, FL - OCTOBER 26: Ford F-150 pickup trucks are seen on Metro Ford's sales lot on October 26, 2017 in Miami, Florida. Ford reported it's quarterly earnings per share of 39 cents, above Wall Street expectations of 33 cents driven in part by strong sales of its F-Series pickup trucks. Ford of Canada sales slower than last years hot spring

Not just trucks, but big trucks pushed Ford of Canada sales close to last year's April.

The F-series Super Duty sales last month were the best on record for the larger pickups.

The F-series overall had a strong month with the second best April on record — But it wasn't quite enough to stay up with last spring and truck sales when just over 2% lower.

For the first time in a while, sales of cars were up, 5.4% ahead of April 2017.

That kept the decline to just over 1% overall for Ford.
