The campaign to raise money to restore the historic Belle Vue House in Amherstburg is a bit closer to its goal.
The Shaanti International Museum of Costumes and Dolls has donated $20,000 to the cause, specifically for the windows. The windows, entire rooms and the main foyer with the staircase and reception area are available for naming rights as part of the fundraising campaign.
The Doll Museum will have an engraved plaque beneath a significant window in the house to recognize the donation. The fundraising campaign hopes to raise a million dollars to begin phase one of repairs.
Museum Secretary Treasurer Raj Varma says Amherstburg believes in culture and after seeing a video of the inside of the Belle Vue House, it had to help.
The Doll Museum has thousands of rare and unique dollars on display at the Malden Community Centre.
