Lakeshore's Belle River Marina recieved an early gift this holiday season.

All 251 of its seasonal slips for 2019 have been sold and the town has started a waiting list for 2020.

Bain tells AM800 News investment in the marina, Lakeview Park and West Beach is paying off.

"The slips have all been improved in there, the facilities have been improved, there's some dredging that's been done," he says.

This is the earliest the Marina has ever sold out, and that's the best kind of feedback to receive, according to Bain.

"We do get sold out as the season goes on, but to be sold out before the end of the year, that's great," Bain says.

Bain tells AM800 News the people factor also has to be recognized.

"The second big factor is the staff itself. We get all kinds of compliments on how well our staff treats the boaters when they're out there," he added.

At the adjacent Lakeview Park and West Beach there's an amphitheatre, playgrounds, a splash-pad, a restaurant, sand volleyball.

There are still 11 "transient slips" for boaters who want to stop in and visit.

Bain says work will continue to build upon the success of the facility.
