There will be something new at next year's Migration Festival in Kingsville.
Manager of Parks, Recreation, Programs and Events Maggie Durocher says the 2021 event will include the inaugural Migration Beer Festival.
She says the beer festival was suppose to launch this year but was pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Durocher says the Migration Festival has been around for 52-years.
"It was a good way to mix it up certainly for Migration Fest and we were looking forward to offering this in 2020 but like everything else, we've moved it on to 2021 but we still are working with new and innovative ideas for this year's Migration Fest," says Durocher.
She says the town is teaming up with 86'd Catering to host the beer festival.
"Like any event you're always looking for new partners, new ways to reach new audiences," says Durocher. "86'd Catering did come to us and they had this idea and they wanted to know if it would be something we'd be interested in as part of Migration Fest and we certainly were keen on it."
Durocher says the new event will celebrate local beer, food and entertainment.
"We're inviting some other restaurants and breweries from other areas along with our own to create something really special for the weekend, to allow guests and visitors to come in, try out our local beers, our local food and find out one more reason why this is certainly the place to visit in Windsor and Essex County," says Durocher.
The event in 2021 will take place on October 16.
Durocher says planning is underway for this year's Migration Festival but it will be done in a more physical distancing way.
